Roxy is trying to step up to be a mow dog, but really she is a house dog. We're improving on the frisbee but, frankly, not her passion. Frog hunting has become her obsession and I am not happy to witness the food chain in the back yard. The house is much more quiet and the void is felt as we all miss our buddy.
• When loved ones come home run to greet them.
• Never pass up the opportunity of a joy ride.
• Allow the wind and fresh air in your face to be pure ecstasy.
• If what you want lies buried, dig till you find it.
• Never pretend to be something you are not.
• No matter how often you are scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.
• Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
• Run, romp and play daily.
• Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
• Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
• On warm days, stop and lie on your back in the grass.
• On hot days drink lots of water and lie in the shade of a tree.
• Be loyal.
• When your happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
• When it's in your best interests, practice obedience.
• Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
• Eat with gusto and enthusiasm, but stop when you've had enough.
• And most of all...when someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

this made me sad. i love that obedience only applies when in your best interest.
I ran across your blog and wanted to thank your for your words for our little paws that have and are in our lifes. They become such a huge part of our lifes. We are having to put our little girl down, she is not doing well and I cannot even bare to think of it. Thank you for reminding of the simple joy she has brought to our family:)
