i dont recommend the windchill... but the big apple has a few adoring features to compensate.
1. magnolia's banana pudding: as a connoisseur of the stuff, i can tell you that magnoilas does a pretty good job. they are famous for their cupcakes, but i favor their secret weapon of banana slices, nilla wafers, and creamy pudding. sadly, I am capable of finishing their generous portion sizes on my own.
2. broadway: the windchill plays in here... while waiting in line for tickets, the jumbo screen across the street kept reminding us that the temp was hovering around 20 degrees (i dont actually want to factor wind chill into that). but it was worth it - legally blonde was fantastic as a musical.
3. grime: the silver lining here is that the grime and dirt of the nyc coupled with the raw public transportation reminded me of how much i love dc. thanks lawmakers for decreeing short buildings and clean metros.
4. garrett carmel corn: oprah wasnt kidding when she named it one of her favorite things, it sure is tasty. i got a bag as soon as i arrived, and right before boarding the bus again. with any luck i wont run out until i go back. (who am i kidding, it is almost gone.)
5. kameron: (these numbers obviously have no bearing on importance) i am so glad to have a friend in ny that i can go visit. and not just any friend, a great friend. kameron was one of my favorite roommates, and is going to be rich and famous (you have to hang onto those ones!). she was nice enough to let me stay with her, and brave the elements. she is even willing to stand on steps so we can take pictures together, which i appreciate a lot. (matt is great too.)
(while we are listing things, i would just like to mention how grateful i am for knit boots, thinsulate coats, and hand sanitizer.)

Love that adventurous seeking spirit and that you are such a city girl! I am jealous you can wear and pull off anything, but adding Frostbite Black to your collection is not recommended! Thanks for the trip report ... love u! xo
I love the details! What a fun trip to NYC! You keep reminding me that there is still so much traveling and sightseeing that left for our little family to do.
Heather, love, love the yellow coat!
